NeuroModulation Technique (NMT) Autism Study (Taking participants from Eugene & Hermiston)

Purpose 1. The purpose of this study is to determine whether NeuroModulation Technique (NMT) is effective in reducing maladaptive behaviors and increasing adaptive behaviors in children diagnosed with autism. 2. Hypothesis: Children in the experimental group will show significant improvement over the control group as measured by the ATEC, ABC and the PDDBI. Children in the control group will show significant improvement over their baseline measures after receiving NMT treatment. Enzyme Might Hold Key to Reversing Autism in Some

An interesting story at http://www.cbc.ca/cp/HealthScout/070625/6062502AU.html where scientists have found a way to reverse autism and mental retardation in mice genetically manipulated to contain Fragile X Syndrome. This reminds me of the story "Flowers for Algernon" later adapted to the screen as "Charly." It appears there is an enzyme called PAK that inhibits brain activity. When PAK is stopped, the brain abnormalities reverse. What is a bit more exciting is this:

Study Shows GM Food Linked to Cancer

I realize this is a Russian study but I think the researcher is Hungarian - Arpad Pusztai is a Hungarian scientist:

A Russian study has confirmed a link between genetically modified (GM) potatoes and cancer in laboratory rats, according to UK Greenpeace activists. The results vindicate the research of Dr. Arpad Pusztai, whose work was questioned by industry backers.
