  • Study on Motor Skills and Autism

    Researchers Megan MacDonald and Catherine Lord have found that kids between ages 1 and 3 can be a whole year behind in fine motor skills (grasping, picking things up, holding a crayon). You can add this to the "duh" file including “Children with autism tend to have gut problems!” and “Children with autism tend to have problems writing!”

    Springfield Island Park Gallery, in the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 W. "C" Street, 5 - 7 pm.

    23 of the best our artists have produced over the last decade. Many of the artists will be there, along with Frankie Sharp crooning tunes from the 40's and more, and maybe Deano will join him! The Willamalane Center will provide snacks. It should be a really celebratory event. I hope you can make it.

    Northwest Children's Theater's current production of "Goodnight Moon" will feature Sensory Friendly performances on Febraury 22nd and March 1st at noon.The performances will feature:

    -Reduced run-time
    -No intermission
    -Modification or elimination of dramatic sound and light cues
    -Constant presence of our house lights.
