National Study of Vitamin/Mineral Supplement for Autism

Enrollment is underway for study at Arizona State University

Parents and caregivers are invited to enroll individuals with autism to participate in a research study on of a new liquid Vitamin/Mineral Supplement. This study has been approved by the Human Subjects Institutional Review Board at Arizona State University.

Purpose:
The Purpose of the study is to evaluate the possible effectiveness of a new vitamin/mineral supplement in reducing the symptoms of autism.

This will be a national study for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.

Who can participate?
- Biological mothers and/or fathers of children diagnosed with
autism between ages 3 to 12
- Parents who are either married or living with a partner
- Parents living in the same home as their child diagnosed with
autism
- Parents who only have one child diagnosed with autism
- Parents who are not raising children with other ASD diagnoses,

HB 2918, Parity for Pervasive Developmental Disorders, will go into effect on January 1, 2008. It is vitally important to file a complaint with the Oregon Insurance Division as soon as you receive a denial for coverage from your health insurance company. You can file complaints concerning any matter in which you are being treated unfairly.

American Academy of Pediatricians Urges Autism Screenings

The American Academy of Pediatricians (AAP) distributed 2 new reports on autism: Management of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Identification and Evaluation of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Bridgeway House Looking to Expand Across Oregon

An interesting story on Bridgeway House's desire to expand across Oregon. Of interest is the fact that they actually want to serve Oregon, not the state of Portland:

The center started in Eugene five years ago, opened another center in Baker and has set up administrative headquarters in Talent while it looks for a local home, said its president for Southern Oregon, Janel Salazar.
